This is my take on {Creative Scrapper's sketch #88}....

With this one, I decided to create Inches...by stamping a part of a stamp onto 1"x1" cut out cardstocks... and emboss it with Aged Mahogany Distressed embossing powder... I also added chalk ink in Jumbo Java and distressed ink in Black Soot to the edges... Later on, I sand the patterned paper before adhering the Inches. To make the title pop up I smeared crackled paint in Antique Bronze...Used some leftover Thickers for the title...

Hope you enjoyed that. Have a great week ahead.

I made it!

I am all smiles this week... blessed with the good news I have received.

First, early this week I've been approached by a colleague...to conduct craft lessons in groups of 2 to 3, for our senior classes during pre voc to improve fine motor skills. It will be something out of the curriculum time for me... and I am actually excited and looking forward to working with the teachers...

And Second...(*drumroll* pls) I made it to the Spring DT on My Scrapbooking Supplies... This will be my first time on a DT... and I am really excited with the friends I've made... Can't wait to start on my projects... and learn from everyone on the team... Hearts to Terria!

And the Third... is special... so I am going to keep it under wraps for now...

Things on my 2010 list are starting to unfold...and its not Impossible at all... Believe... and look within... you'll find Endless Possibilities!

This is an update on the mini album I am making for a Friend...

It explores the use of different mediums as titles like stickers, computer graphic, chipboard...etc... and how to merry type of fonts with the emotion and mood of the photograph. It also explores the concept of typography. It shares some very good design Do's and Don'ts... It is simple to read, filled with pictures on every page to get you thinking, and inspired. Definitely Worth the read!

Feeling overwhelmed...

I suprise myself... really.... there's days when I am so tied up with the little things... feel emotionally drained and exhausted... yet... the very stressful situation I'm in always drives me to scrapbook... Personally, it has been a great therapy... for those days when I am feeling overwhelmed with LIFE.

A friend gave me some transparencies recently... yes, the ones you may remember from some time ago... which the teachers used to flash over the OHPs. I used my quickutz machine to make this mini quote album for a dear friend... so that what I get is some sort of a clear album... Again, just experimenting with acrylic paint... It is a simple album... but working with a clear album is something new to me and I hope to practice some more... Some of the quotes are things that I, myself need reminders about. Like... "learn to let go of things beyond our control..." I think many a times... life gets overwhelming because we find it difficult to Just Let Go...

Here are the details...

Bits and pieces of the canvas gift.

Ahhh another week has passed by... feels like I am living from one weekend to the next... January... a busy month at work!

I did tell you about the canvas gift on Wed...
Father used to say... "Practice makes perfect!" so I am learning by lots of experimenting now...
Here are the details of the canvas gift...

With this one, I used the mists I got from G... But I think I got a bit too much paint on... was going for the minimalist look... just wanted something simple, so that the essence of the photo and title stood out...without being bold. And did I mention she loves Blue! That's why I added a little blue here and there... but making sure it isn't too overwhelming. And guess what ... its such a coincidence that Ed's challenge up on Liane's diary is on FAMILY!!! I have just posted it on their Gallery.

I will be working on the mini album for a friend this weekend. Looking forward to some quiet time... and of course, I am hoping to get OUT there... its been a long time since I spend Saturday OUT. Just the comfort of my jeans, makes my weekends, a weekend!I need that right now.

Have a great weekend everyone. {Be good to yourself.}
So go on, Scrap to your heart's desires!

Canvas gift...

Its midweek Wednesday... and we all need that little something to take us through the week... yes???

I think for many of us... many a times... its FAMILY... LOVE ONES...HOME! The feeling of being needed, wanted and loved. Someone who will listen to our complains...(at work?...sch?) someone who'll share our joy and sadness... someone who'll not take sides... judge... rather JUST Listen.

I made a little gift for a friend... Its a canvas project... I felt mentally drained... so I took out a canvas board and started to scrapbook! This is for her birthday next month... but I am giving it to her really soon! Looking at her family, always makes me think about the kind of family I would like to have someday...

Here's a sneak...

The litte in betweens...

My brains feels tired... I almost feel like my mind is constantly thinking, and multi-tasking...It's like it has a life of its own...and on some days, I can't sleep cause it won't!

Tomorrow's Monday... Anyone has a problem with Mondays? I was suprised to see a site at Facebook the other day that went like "Why is Monday so far from Friday but Friday so near Monday?" and it really made me laugh. That's what makes weekends precious!

Speaking of which...The crop went well...and I am glad Nad enjoyed trying out the different products... Here's a peek... I love how she edited the photos...

Here's a layout on my guinea pig, Matin... Using 7gypsies's "97% Complete BOYS" stickers plus misted 7gypsies's "Family- Always" paper... Hehe... Think it felt more boyish with the stickers...

Thought I 'd share this beautiful finding with everyone... My sister stumbled upon this leaf on the way from from work the other day...and she kept it for me... so sweet of her! The other leaves were typically shaped but this one was shaped like a heart... and it was not torn... look at how the leaf curved in to make a beautiful heart...

It goes to show that in every imperfection, there is beauty... and I hope that We can apply this thought to everything we see, hear, feel.

Have a good week ahead Everyone!

A quick Saturday update!

A little sneakpeek...

Thanks to Harvey Norman's photo centre... I manage to print some pictures at discounted rates... which I TOTALLY forgot to inform everyone about... cause my mind is soo full of all the little things...I'm sorry :( and Thank God I remembered it on the last day of the sale. It was 19c per 4r. Thanks to a colleague who reminded me about it! Generally they print pictures way cheaper (35c per 4r)... than the neighbouring photo shops...( I got charged a dollar per 4r...a total ripoff! sheesh!)The photos look great and the layer of colour don't chip off unlike other self printing machines...

I managed to snap a picture of my dear shoes...

that I've recently thrown away... due to wear and tear... plus having a right foot thats bigger than your left doesn't help either... so had to get new comfy shoes... well, I treasure it to bits cause its got so much sentimental value... my sister bought these in London... for me. It was her first trip "Outside" and "Out there"... it was a business trip... and its not like a yearly thing that she goes overseas... or any further than our neighbouring countries at least... haha. Shoes are like the most frustrating things to buy... its hard to find a good pair, and when you do find comfy ones.... they somehow don't last anymore than 4months... at least with me! :D So yes... I'd probably be scrapbooking this photo soon.

By the way... MWL now has a sketch challenge... sounds exciting... but just haven't got down to do it... we'll see...

I am multi-tasking right now...with work on the computer...And I am getting things ready for the crop tomorrow!

Its Saturday night! Scrap to your heart's desires!

Happy happenings...

It's Friday...
*deep breath....exhales*

Let's give a pat on our backs for getting through the first 2weeks of 2010!
Let's not talk about how tired we all are okay... cause the word "Tired" is an understatement...
It's time to spend some quality time doing what you love this weekend...

There's so many things to be excited about!
This month, I got orders for a mini book, on Love & Marriage... And I am using some of these on my project...

*big grin* I am thinking Purple, Pink and black... hmmmm...

On a different note, I was delighted to see the recent layout I did last Sat for Ed's Challenge being feature on Laine's Diary early this week.

I also got to know about Lia's SB Stash sale... WOW stuffs... at GREAT prices! Go have a look... Laine's is also having the last few days of sale... 25 papers going at $10!!! I have'nt had the chance to go... plus I'm a little over my budget this month...so I have to pass that.

Anyhow... I am really looking forward to Leena's upcoming class... if its on 6th or 7th, I am really hoping I have nothing last minute on that day...

Next month's Valentines... which means there will be alot of gift ideas and discounts... I am looking forward to it... may get that special something.

Till then... Scrap to you heart's desires...

My Scrap Space.

It's almost mid week... I am feeling soo scrappy... but work is piling up... and I have to get them done bit by bit everyday... so that I will actually... Have a WEEKEND... I am looking forward to Sunday...cause a friend is visiting to crop at my place.

I was also glad that my friend I could drop by last 2 weeks to scrap 2 layouts as a gift for her colleagues... I managed to take some pictures of her first 12x12 layout!!! it did'nt look like it was the first... :D

She loves blue... so I'm glad we managed to find some appropriate papers and embellishments. She also added some gem stickers to her layout... and experimented on mists, and embossing powders...

This is my scrap space. Though it is small,I am delighted at the thought of having others share this special space with me... they have been kind. I used to scrap on the floor alot but it hurt my back...in the long run, it really wouldn't work... This space was inspired by scrappers on youtube and other blogs...
I do wish this space will get bigger in the future... maybe a larger table... but not right now cause I share my room with 2 darlings... yes these two below... my guinea pigs...*grin* so I am happy with what I have now.

Good night world!

"Ouch... its that pain again..."

Have you ever scrapped so much, that you find discomfort or pain in your fingers, and wrist?? Do your day to day work requires you to type for long hours... carry out household chores and wash dishes? We all have encountered some kind of physical strain before... and it is important to do something about these symptoms...

There are many good websites out there that shares a whole list of exercises for our fingers, hands and wrists... This is one you can visit... http://www.ayushveda.com/dietfitness/exercises-to-strengthen-hands/
I think it is important to start scrapping right...and I hope this year, there will be improvements to the discomfort I used to feel... Take this first step to keep you happy, healthy and safe in your scrapbooking adventures!

I finished a layout last evening...

This is for the person I love... reminding him to see possibilities...and to never give up on Dreams... I think that in life... when things don't go the way you want it too... when people put you down... and you feel unappreciated... we need to pick ourselves up... and channel our thoughts to others around us that love us, and care for us, and depend on us. We have to at some point, stop looking into our flaws and personal failures or dwell in self pity...

This picture reminds me of how upset he got... when he lost a part of his kite... and was searching for sticks to bind them together and hold the kite up... This photo makes me feel vunerable...there is almost a great sense of being lost, and resigned to fate. And at some points in our lives, many of us will feel this way. But I hope in the new year, We will be given more strength to embrace life's challenges.

I entered this layout at Laine's Gallery... for Ed's challenge... Come join in the fun, and win yourself a voucher!

I sand the large buttons...and layered it... and of course I never fail to add butterflies to my projects... Butterflies are beautiful... and has alot of meaning in my life... one of the things it represents is CHANGES.
I also experimented a little... distressed the edges of my papers and added Tim Holtz's crackled paint to it...in Antiqued Bronze... to highlight the colour of his shirt... and I spread some crackle paint in Antique Linen to the mat...I love how it coats the paper lightly...and gives a faded texture...

Its the Weekend....!!!
Joy oh Joy....
I completed this layout last week...Just before I got back to work...

I used K & Company's Black & Ivory fusion papers... which I got from MWL's sale last 2 weeks... I also love the Prima pebbles I got from the sale... it has that subtle vintage touch to it... oh so pretty!

Anyway, this year...I have made plans to sort of revamp the usual art & craft lesson in class... I am going to incorporate the use of scrapbooking techniques... and mixed media art...and still use skills that are functional and achievable. We have almost completed the first art piece this week...it's almost finished... just need that last touch of glaze...
I will share some pictures of the art pieces soon...

Till then...Scrap to your heart's desires...
