Season's Great things!!!

Season's Greetings!!!
Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday...

It has been a long time.
I miss scrapbooking.
I got very busy cause I went back to school
and
I got married.

Ecstatic much :D
Thought Id share with you what I did...
Instead of using a guestbook, I made a guest board... yes 3 canvas boards decorated... this idea was inspired by my sister. She told me to think about hanging my wedding well wishes instead of keeping it in a book.

And a lil wedding banner that reads, "getting married" , hung on the wall at the entrance of my room...

Maybe I'll share more pictures next time...
Till then,
go on...

Looking forward.

It has been dusty...
Left alone.
For a long time now.

I have packed my stuff away for the moment, because I am busy with school and preparing for the Wedding.

But I am really happy to see my friends here scrapbooking and creating, it is really inspiring.

I am looking forward to December...

Starting anew...

And with that, I said Goodbye to the bedroom and scrap area I "built" for the past 2 years. Something my sister calls..." Lala Land"... Packed most of it away in my box. Cause Im "moving" down a room away :) in a few months. Cause I am getting Married! All praise to Allah. And No, its not the end of scrapbooking for me... :)

I am enjoying the process of putting things together all over again... in the new room... got my paint color and I am loving it... I am halfway through painting.

A beautiful shade of turquoise blue.

Been highly inspired by all these home decoration magazines...what I enjoy most is filling up a journal I made to record down all the things going on in the last 12 months before I marry...which I will update about soon.

Thank you for visiting...
Till then, scrap to your Heart's desires...

This One's for you.

A bit of recycling going on... as I reorganize my stash, give away things I do not need and really STOP all the unnecessary buying...

So I included this Prima packaging into my mini book.
This is a special journal for a friend who lost her mother to cancer.
I wanted to share this with her... cause I had a scrapbook/ journal for father too, to help me remember all the things We wanted about him, and it helped us with the healing process.

On another note,
Here's a gift from my sister...love all the colors, its so girly.

Thanks for coming by...
Till then, Scrap to your Heart's desires...

Healing my soul.

I had spent days...watching the leaves fall...fall onto the ground... and then, watch flowers... flowers growing after that...

I went through such a harsh time past 6 months... yes harsh not hard... it almost broke my spirit, but I kept thinking about how much I have grown and how blessed I am... I thank God.
I want to say Thank You to each and everyone of you who came by and dropped me a line or a text and wished me well...
I am good, thank you...so much.

I am finding so much comfort right now... just learning to relax, and letting go, yes letting go of things beyond my control.

Healing my soul.

I will be back again real soon...till then,

The last weekend was good. The best in weeks. Had completed a big load of work, and felt so relieved and grateful after that.

I managed to relax by creating a mini book... :) A lil recipe book for my sister who is learning to cook for her husband... (and cope with all the other things in between...)

Thank you for still staying tune and visiting my blog, I really appreciate it.
Till then...

Coming Home....

Coming home...
everyday to familiar things... that is what keeps us sane...
really...
it could be the person who loves you,
a warm bowl of rice,
the warmth of your bed,
knowing your pet is waiting at the door for you...
or simply, just the feeling of home... that you can never feel anywhere else in this world.

Besides all the Love you can get under a roof...
I find comfort in little mementos around the house...in my room... like pictures here and there that reminds me of how blessed I am...

I made fabric flowers while recuperating at home on Tuesday... had some fabric from the tailor... somehow making something... anything with love, in soft repose just sends enormous *joy*... and so I stuck a pin in each and liked how it looked on the cushions...

To Everyone affected by earthquakes and tsunamis around the world... may God give you strength to continue living the best way you can... and keep the people you love safe.

come away with me...

This is how Saturday mornings look like from my window.

And this is how it looks from bed...

For the past days, Ive been in bed, outta shape. And as I watch the sun rise... I yearn for a better day ahead...
My mind is soo exhausted from thinking, and working... mentally drained... flu, fever, migraines... I am worn out.

Do you like this? Its a broken frame... I painted it blue...and then had decoupage its glass frame with {yours truly}, Modpodge on a thin almost tissue like art paper... It has the words stamped..."come away with me, spread your wings..." on it...
The birds and words inspires me so I keep it around on display.

Thank you for dropping by...and thank you to the readers who have send me heaps of well wishes... really, THANK YOU.
Till then, Scrap to your Heart's desires...

Where old meets new and new meets old.

Making meaningful art and deco with old and unused things... This is one of the things I enjoy...

... I enjoy decoupage work. Above is a metal gift box which I painted and decoupage with Tim Holt's patterned paper... It now holds some of my makeup on my dressing table.

And here's a piece from a broken frame... I painted it brown and lightly highlighted the edges with gesso to create a worn out look and added the tag for a little personality.

Hope you enjoyed that...

MOLD ALERT

Dear friends...

kindly read this one...cause I don't want it to happen to you...
I have been sick for more than a month now... been having bad migraines that sometimes last for days even with medication... pain in jaw and face...been in such discomfort... been suffering in silence.

I have not been scrapbooking for some time now, because of Sinusitis. I am very sure now that its a reaction to the mold found on my scrapbook items and supplies...

Seriously in this part of the country, where its all humid...I wonder if any of you out there have experienced this... I Do. I have never seen anyone complain about having mold issues on their scrapbooks, art deco and all their supplies so far... so pls share... I found this article so far and it has helped... a MUST READ.

It has been quite a challenging task to get rid of the mold. I didn't see this coming cause I really enjoy cleaning, and sanitizing my room, washing all the upholstery...weekly... but I forgot about the huge bulk of paper and wooden products in my room. I usually clean them by vacuuming areas where I can if dust collect...
Maybe it was the recent rainy season in December and last month that started the mold.

And so, its been a pain. But I will survive.
Just staying away from scrapbooking abit until Im better.

But for all YOU out there...
