My home is a mess, and living in when its being renovated is the hardest thing. Coping with the noise, dirt, dust... having things shifted... CHANGE... Change is hard to do. But things were falling apart, so reassured my mother... Change has to take place now.
I have been in and out of bad days.
I can't say for sure I'm done with IT. But I am doing my best to cope with Life.
I want to share this canvas piece with you.
Again working with an old photograph. This is of my parents while they were already engaged to each other. I love the spontaneity of the photo. And the pink hue it had. Their friend snapped this...while My father was singing to my mother. Mother said she liked this photo best. So, I put this picture of them with the song from "The Story", because the meaning of the song is just so perfect for them. And they were made to share their life story together.
Thank you for dropping by.

Updates... and craft sessions...
This is just an update...
There won't be any book reviews this Wednesday because I am feeling under the weather... with renovations happening at home... I have been dead busy...cleaning and cleaning and cleaning... I feel very disorientated.
On a lighter note, I want to share some photos of the craft session I have been carrying out... I am very blessed to have the opportunity to work with the senior pupils and it has helped me alot because there is more room for reflection on my teaching approaches. The pupils made the cards with minimum prompts... I have learnt to let go alot...and not direct anymore... instead letting the pupils lead me, and take charge of their craft, encouraging them with choice making, and facilitating their creative journey... so kudos to them! With a sample of the work we are doing for that session, and some demonstrations, the pupils are able to make the cards on their own...
Thank you for dropping by...
Hope you enjoyed that...

Her Story...
This is a photo of my mother... with my sister. She shared with me that it was one of the most difficult times in her life, because she and father were just starting a family, and was struggling to live on their own...and she had just lost her mother. I think my father choose such a beautiful timing to snap this picture. I could almost feel her pain and uncertainty.
Her Story... silent all these years.
Thank you for dropping by.

Yearning...
I have been taking alot of time away from life...
I feel extremely, emotionally tired.
Slept through the days, mostly.
My body and mind really needed This.
I was browsing some older photographs my late father took today. And the special thing about a photograph, is the connection you make with it. This, in my hand... was almost like a door to my father's dreams... and in touching it, seeing it, I felt with my heart why is it that he wanted to be a photographer. I closed my eyes and immersed myself into the photo, I could almost feel the stillness of the air in that picture, and the sunlight dancing across their faces... I could almost hear the gentle laughter they exchanged... I could almost, almost hear the stories I missed out on...
These photographs were all stories... and they yearn for someone to listen...to the things they don't say.
I was amazed with the discoveries I made today... He left a part of him here... and all the while I didn't see... and as I tracked myself back to reality... a tear trickled down my cheek... yes, I miss him.
I leave you with a song- The story... the lyrics is so meaningful to me...

"Don't dream it's over..."
I have not been feeling great lately...
been in and out of feeling lousy, and depressed.
But I am so glad, and blessed by the love and care that help me through another difficult time in my life.
THANK YOU.
Last Friday, I stopped by Bras Basah to get a second hand book for next term's art and craft lesson. The book really reminded me of my childhood. You know what I love about second hand goods... is the history that comes with it... Often I will think, "who owned this?" "what was she/he like?" "what kind of life did they have?"... I really wanna know...
And when I saw this... I felt almost satisfied...
I browsed through the book and found some lovely pictures... Suddenly, an image came into mind... And as I sat down, pondering on life... and everything that happened... I begin taking out my canvas board. It was 1 in the morning, and I could'nt sleep. And for days I had this song playing in my head...
Hey now, hey now
Don't dream it's over
Hey now, hey now
When the world comes in
They come, they come
To build a wall between us
We know they won't win
And all that lead me to this...
The canvas is made up of bits and pieces that symbolises where I am in life right now. First of all, I really adore stamps from Tim holtz...so I chose this quote. I picked a picture of the characters in the book looking out into sea... when they had finally reached the island they seek... This is to remind me of the children I work with and their unlimited zest for life... A compass to help me find my way in life if I am lost...to represent religion. A butterfly so that I will always be free to fly, and accept changes... 7 gypsies measuring gaffer tape... to tell myself that I cannot judge life by the failures I have encountered... the flowers symbolizes the blossoming of life. A key hole, so that I know I can always open the door to my dreams. And the quote - "Live the life you Imagined" taken from Tim Holtz's blog.
Thank you for stopping by. Hope everyone is Inspired.

Get Organized...
I was doing my weekly checks... making sure everything is clean and in its place last weekend...(in fact...every weekend!) and reorganising some things in my room...and that got me thinking if its time for a wardrobe overhaul... I have lots of black, grey and brown... But I can't help it...I love those colours...
And I was also pondering...on why... there is always never enough supplies... when really... there is... will there be no end... (:D well I don't want it to end...yet...ever?)But seriously...Is this being greedy...
Well.... there is opportunity cost in everything... something's gotta give... but I wonder when I start my own family... will I be able to manage this increasingly costly hobby... I may not get to scrap as often as I want to... that's for sure...
Anyway...I found this nice organiser at a shop in Jurong Point... on offer at $20.00... usual price $27... I will be using this to keep some leftover stickers and tags... plus some stationery...
so check it out if you are interested... though I can't really remember the shop's name... I believe its Unimax at the basement...they sell some scrapbooking stickers too...
Enjoy the weekend... Scrap to your heart's desires...

Midweek Wednesday Book Reviews
Book Review #4
Title: Modern Memory Keeper-A new approach to scrapbooking your family legacy.
By: Ronee Parsons
What I like about this book:
This book shouts out "...FRESH!..."
I mean we are all so used to seeing old photographs being scrapbook in a traditional or vintage layout... (which I am a fan of...) so this was a complete change from the typical ideas... in fact...it's sort of weird that the main subject of the photographs stood out even more... by scrapbooking them in a modern way...this book is filled with ideas... it's one of those books that makes you go..." I wanna try this..." and "I can't wait to try that!" This book also shares some tips on how to scan and restore damaged photographs by using digital tools....
Where you can find this book:
Woodlands Regional Library (745.593 PAR-[REC])
This book definitely gets 5/5 brads!!!!!
So what are you waiting for... come on... scrap to your heart's desires...

My Scrapbooking Supplies Product Review...
2 weeks back I did up my product review for My Scrapbooking Supplies, on 7 gypsies stamps... and its finally up on the website!!! Do check it out for more details...and leave us some love...
This is what I did - A birthday card... (possibly for a guy) and a clear album using clear transparencies... both using from 7 gypsies- Nottinghill and Alphabet INK clear stamps
This is one way of finishing up those bits of leftover papers that don't seem to fit anywhere... Hope you enjoyed that...

Dear sister... Cherish happy days...
I made this layout especially for my sister...
I am not very good with these colours, and heavily patterned paper as a background...but these are her favourite colours, in fact her whole room is made up of just red, black and white...and bits of pink here and there ... so that was my colour inspiration. It is also inspired by Sketch 93 from Creative Scrappers...
.
The design of this layout is pretty much metaphorical... My sister has always been a workaholic... and I mean she really works hard... and she can't learn to let go when things does'nt go the way she wants it to... and it gets pretty much crazy around here at times when she is stressed up with work... so placing the silly pictures of her behind the Hambly screen, and a picture of her smiling on a mat... I wanted to show that, that was pretty much her... taking it all in... and hiding all those emotions inside with a smile...
So hope you enjoyed that... Thanks for looking...
Stay tune for my Product review at My Scrapbooking Supplies next week.... I'm excited... and I will also be sharing another book review next Wednesday.
Have a scrappy weekend... and Scrap to your heart's desires!
