The one with Birds and Birdcages....

This is my first Assignment for Mini Book Anonymous.... So I'm just so excited!

Presenting... my take on Birds and Birdcages...
A mini book on my Engagement...

In this post, I will be sharing with you a tutorial on how to create a similar look on your mini books! In this mini book, I minimized the use of embellishments to highlight the photographs. I wanted to bring focus to the special event that was taking place... and so, I was looking along the lines of making this album simple and elegant.

First, you would need to choose the colour of your cardstocks and Hambly Screenprints. Here, I choose cardstocks with lilac and turquoise hues to match my photographs, and Hambly Screenprints in white Mini Graph. You then have them cut to size of 8" by 6" and make the overlay your book cover.

Next, punch holes into them. You can choose to use rings to attach them later.

The main stamp used in this project is from Crafty Secrets- Birds at Home. Stamp 5 images of the bird cage on lightly misted cardstock, making 1 of it a cutoff image of a birdcage.

You then arrange them such that 4 of the smaller birdcages go behind the overlay, while the biggest one on the front of the cover. Once you are sure of their positions, secure them with a little glossy accent so that it will dry clear.

Take a die cut of a ring, or you can make your own, and pimp it up by smudging some gesso on, and a good amount of distress inks on them.

Line all of these up... together with some flowers and fonts... I have used Prima flowers and stickers from Making Memories here... I also stamped an image of a bird onto the birdcage and have another one cut out and placed on the inside of the ring. You can also add some pearls and blings.

Then add pictures... I have kept the empty spaces at the side for journaling... and have added stamped images from SEI- Lovebirds
These are a few pages from my mini book.

Hope you enjoyed this tutorial... and will visit my other friends from Mini Book Anonymous! If you try this out, do let me know how it goes...

Thank you for stopping by everyone!
Weekend is near... Scrap to your heart's desires!
