A lil' sneak....

I have been feeling stressed up and tired...and whenever I get like this...I arm myself with ink on one hand, and paint on the other to battle it out... think for many of us, when things get a little crazy, we scrap it out...

I say go on creating the things you want to, no matter.

We are celebrating Children's day in school today...
So Happy Children's Day to all children..and to the child within us all.

Time for some Mod Podge baby...

I have been Mod Podging lately... okay if there is even such a word! But I was so inspired by the entry some time ago on Brave Girls Club! I have had my Mod Podge sitting there for some time now... It's been 2 months since I used it... and since I have some nice chocolate tins I collected over past months... WHY NOT?

I like this one...

Basically, I had the chance to fully utilize every bit of leftover papers I have...So it's all good.

Go read the Brave Girls Club blog and be Inspired... I know I already AM.
Go on...Scrap to your Heart's desires...

Updates here and there...

The month of Ramadan where all Muslims fast from dawn to dusk...have sadly left us too soon...Tomorrow will be Eid.

One of the happiest times of the year... will be soulful and bittersweet, as it is the time families gather... I know my family is missing Father dearly...deeply. But Life like everything else has to go on. This blog. Scrapbooking. It started because of him. It was because I wanted to remember and never forget. And I want to help others remember too and never forget happier and sad times we went through.

Everyone has lost someone dear and close. They fall. Sometimes for a long time. But they do get up. Its only natural to feel the loss of someone so important in our lives. But We have to always brave on, and face this life without them. I tell myself that everyday.

I wanted to share the "green packets" I personalized!!! Eid is also a time for giving, and we often place money inside these packets to giveaway to young and old.
I bought some plain envelopes...then misted and stamped different images on them... okay maybe I got a little too crafty... but I can't help it!

They are good to go!

Other than that, I've been busy cleaning and decorating home, and preparing cookies for Eid.

I am excited to see my friends of different races come over for Eid... Its always nice to catch up on little and big things we've missed.
To those celebrating... - May you have a beautiful and blessed Eid - and to everyone else... - Happy Holidays and Scrap to your heart's desires! -

The one with Birds and Birdcages....

This is my first Assignment for Mini Book Anonymous.... So I'm just so excited!

Presenting... my take on Birds and Birdcages...
A mini book on my Engagement...

In this post, I will be sharing with you a tutorial on how to create a similar look on your mini books! In this mini book, I minimized the use of embellishments to highlight the photographs. I wanted to bring focus to the special event that was taking place... and so, I was looking along the lines of making this album simple and elegant.

First, you would need to choose the colour of your cardstocks and Hambly Screenprints. Here, I choose cardstocks with lilac and turquoise hues to match my photographs, and Hambly Screenprints in white Mini Graph. You then have them cut to size of 8" by 6" and make the overlay your book cover.

Next, punch holes into them. You can choose to use rings to attach them later.

The main stamp used in this project is from Crafty Secrets- Birds at Home. Stamp 5 images of the bird cage on lightly misted cardstock, making 1 of it a cutoff image of a birdcage.

You then arrange them such that 4 of the smaller birdcages go behind the overlay, while the biggest one on the front of the cover. Once you are sure of their positions, secure them with a little glossy accent so that it will dry clear.

Take a die cut of a ring, or you can make your own, and pimp it up by smudging some gesso on, and a good amount of distress inks on them.

Line all of these up... together with some flowers and fonts... I have used Prima flowers and stickers from Making Memories here... I also stamped an image of a bird onto the birdcage and have another one cut out and placed on the inside of the ring. You can also add some pearls and blings.

Then add pictures... I have kept the empty spaces at the side for journaling... and have added stamped images from SEI- Lovebirds
These are a few pages from my mini book.

Hope you enjoyed this tutorial... and will visit my other friends from Mini Book Anonymous! If you try this out, do let me know how it goes...

Thank you for stopping by everyone!

A little bump on the road.

Inspiration is waiting to happen...

It just takes an open heart to see beauty in simple things, in imperfections. Like looking at this wilting rose... even in its dying days, it still looks beautiful.

I've been pondering alot lately...so much to think about...too much to worry... so I'm letting go. And just...
Pray for better days to come.

To everyone out there...Scrap to your heart's desires...
