It has been a relaxing weekend... with no deadlines to meet.
I made a notebook last night... I was so inspired to use blue after looking at this beautiful piece of work by Aida Haron...
I prefer something mild, so I mixed my blues with greys... I dabbed some acrylic paint onto the flocked paper (notebook cover) and I really love the effect. This is the result...
I am seriously enjoying the process of making notebooks... I am giving this one to a lovely friend.
There is something about these roses... I am starting to love the vintage and shabby chic feel they give me...Again! An apron from Daiso... and a tote from Cotton On... to add to my other collection...
I hope the week has been kind.

The one with the Orphanage.
This is the Al Jabar Orphanage... It cares and educates over 60 children and teens.
About 30 children and teens sleep here in this small area.
Filth outside their window.
Newly built toilet.
One of the water source.
Near the kitchen area.
A very dark toilet.
Broken dreams.
Children playing along the corridors with broken doors.
It reads: MY HOME, MY PARADISE.
Irony.
Not the kind of place you want for any child. But to them, this is good enough.
There are so many children all over the world that suffers the same fate, or worst.
It is sad. We cannot save or help everyone. But what we can do, is be grateful and cherish what we have Today.
Thank you for dropping by...

.Bittersweet.
...behind these smiles...behind these pretty things... behind these daily ramblings... and happy thoughts... behind all these colours and close up shots... behind these blogs... are really, just exhausted people...trying their best to make better lives for people they love and care about. Each of us... dealing with our own little struggles.
All of us, in our own little cage.
Waiting to escape.

The many ponders and pauses...
A warm mother's day to all... Hope you had a beautiful celebration...
In my mother's words... "Mother's day is any day that a mother feels appreciated by her children..." And this mother's day somehow feels more soulful to me...looking at my mother, realizing that she is aging... having to come to terms with my father's death and knowing that this makes her a very lonely being. I am also sadden by the news of a close friend's mother falling very ill. You know...very often, when we least expect it... things happen...and it changes the very course of our lives.
People around us...they each have their own mountains to conquer... own trials... obstacles... own set of difficulties to face... No matter... we always have to survive, and be brave. No matter... we have to cherish and be grateful for what we have.
Below is a canvas project using different distressing methods. I love the coat of distressed powder I used... cause I am in love with the richness of Burgundy... and of course, I have always been in love with this picture.
Thank you for dropping by... I have been busy... But I am looking forward to visit the many blog friends I have... soon... and catch up on their scrapbooking adventures! Miss reading up!

...Love...
This is inspired by the song Love by John Lennon... and everytime I see this picture of my parents when they were younger, I can't help but be reminded of this song...
I experimented with walnut inks and perfect pearls... the walnut ink was not only used to age the papers but misted on the Prima flowers too... I love how the perfect pearls give such a soft and beautiful sheen...
I have been really busy... and its the start of another jam-packed week... so much in my mind right now...
But I had time to visit the Al Jabar Orphanage in Batam, Indonesia yesterday. Truly there are so much to be thankful for. I will share some pictures soon.
Thanks for dropping by...
